What does the Bible say about giving?
The Bible says more about giving than Heaven, prayer, or even faith! Here is just a sample of what God says about giving:
Giving is an act of worship that brings me closer to God.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21 (NIV)
Giving is the antidote to materialism.
“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.” 1 Timothy 6:17-18 (NIV)
Giving strengthens my faith.
“ Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” 2 Corinthians 9:6 (NIV)
Giving releases God's blessing.
“A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25 (NIV)
Giving brings happiness to our life.
“Jesus Himself said, ‘There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.’” Acts 20:35 (TEV)
