“They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.“ Acts 2
Our hope for the meeting is to see fellowship, Bible study, and time spent in prayer together. We know this will not happen every time, but these three staples are what we want to always be working toward. At the end of the day, our heart is to see our church find biblical community with one another!
Group Size
faithGROUPS range from approximately 3-4 people all the way to 15-16 people. There is no perfect size for groups.
Group Structure
Groups will meet for 10-weeks at a time. Depending on the calendar year, groups may only meet 8 or 9 weeks in order to protect natural breaks in the school calendar year. The 10 week quarter will be followed by a 3-4 week break. This time off will allow for distinct on/off ramps that will help re-energize and refresh group leaders and members. The focus of the 10-week quarter will be for groups to get to know each other better, while still being intentional with spiritual growth. At the end of the quarter, groups that fit well with one another will have the option of keeping the same group for the next small group season. If the group does not fit well, the group can dissolve and members in it will have the option to join a new group at the next group link.
Quarter Structure
During the course of each quarter, we ask that groups meet together once a week We suggest that every group include at least one pot-luck in a member’s home. There is something very biblical about sharing a meal together with a group of friends, while praying and diving into Scripture. We also suggest that each group leader work with their group to come up with a serve project during the course of the 10 weeks. We value the biblical principle of serving very high at Faith Chapel and encourage all groups to experience it!
Our Billings & Beyond ministry will be available to help resource and plan out serve projects.
Yearly Structure
There will be 4 quarters throughout the year. During the fall, winter and spring quarters - groups will be encouraged to meet and study the approved curriculum during the 10-week period. Throughout the summer quarter, groups will not be required to meet, but may do so if they wish.
Meeting Time and Location
People will have the choice of meeting when and wherever best fits their needs. The Group Link weekend and our Faith Chapel website (www.faithchapel.cc) will be the best resources for a person to find a location/leader/time that will best fit their individual needs. Leaders will determine a day and location ahead of time for when and where their group will meet. Our preference is for faithGROUPS to meet in a group member’s home.
The church will be available for groups to meet as long as they are scheduled during operating hours. (Times Vary) Childcare will ONLY be provided on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00PM. There will be a small cost involved for the care.
*Note: Groups that meet at the church are required to have childcare. This is a precaution that we must take to ensure safety for our families and church.
Curriculum
We will provide a “Going Further” study guide for all leaders during the faithGROUP quarter. The focus of the study guide will be on the message and Scripture from the weekend sermon. This will be a resource that helps challenge and encourage further growth for the group. We will provide the “Going Further” study guide each week during the quarter for all faithGROUP Leaders.
If a group desires to use a different resource for the weekly curriculum, we ask that they confirm the material with the faithGROUP coordinator. Our reason for approving the material is that we want to ensure that any teachings that are connected with Faith Chapel are congruent with the teachings we understand from Scripture.
